The MADMEN OF THE MOUNTAIN are a performance, event, and art collective based in Brooklyn, New York. The varied members create collaboratively and individually to further their separate doctrines. Initially, they believe in the stage as a magical place where all the false idols of consumption are alternately displayed and destroyed. Performance and live interaction is a means to reclaim secret selves burnt to a crisp in this high-speed hungry world. In a disparate land of falseness, there is an attempt to exorcise and rebuild meaning to our liking. It is a purgation with creation; a cohesive descent. The reclamation of our secret selves happens in space and with objects. We use them in the process of destroying falseness and creating truth; destroying truth and creating falseness. In the face of this desertion of truth, this ambiguity, we take it upon ourselves to reclaim.
